Membership in Woodturners of Alachua County is annual, running from January 1 through December 31. Members who join after June 30 will have their membership dues pro-rated to one-half of the usual annual dues.
- Individual membership is $40 annually; $20 for July-December.
- Family membership is $50 annually; $25 for July-December.
- Associate Memberships are free and available to children under 18 with their parent or guardian’s permission. Associate Members may not vote or hold officer positions but are granted all other membership rights.

Rent a Lathe!
WAC has some smaller lathes that can be rented out to members as they get started on their journey in woodturning! Ask about our lathe rental program at a meeting.

Can I attend meetings without joining?
Yes, we invite anyone to join our monthly meetings. We encourage you to join after attending two meetings in a year. The Sawdust sessions and December holiday party are only open to members.
What do membership dues cover?
The club uses membership dues to cover expenses like facility rental, AAW Chapter dues and insurance, supplies for demos, paying out-of-town demonstrators, AV equipment, and other expenses. We are a registered non-profit organization.
What is a Sawdust session?
Sawdust sessions are held twice a month at a member’s home. These are a time to learn to turn, discuss project ideas, learn a new technique, and socialize. Usually multiple lathes will be available for use. Many of our club members are experienced instructors, and they are happy to help new turners get hands-on experience. Whether it’s your first time turning, your first bowl, or you are an experienced turner, there is always something to learn at a sawdust session. Sawdust sessions are free for members.
