Woodturners of Alachua County
Our club is here to teach, demonstrate, and promote woodturning as a craft and an art. Our members are from the Gainesville and Alachua County area in North Central Florida.
Meetings
Monthly meetings are held on the 4th Wednesday of the month at 7:00 pm at the American Legion Post 16 (4701 NW 6th St, Gainesville, FL 32609).
Recordings of demonstrations are posted on our YouTube channel once processed.
At our meetings we present our current work to one another and host a demonstrator who shows the members an important skill for woodturning such as a project, tool selection and maintenance, or finishing techniques.
Members are welcome to attend two monthly “Sawdust sessions” where we gather to trade advice, get help, show techniques, and have a great time!
Founding
Our club was officially formed in February 2020 and is a recognized chapter of the American Association of Woodturners and an IRS-recognized 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
