History
Woodturners of Alachua County started in 2020 to serve the people in Alachua County and around Gainesville, FL interested in discovering the beauty of woodturning, learning more about the craft, and practicing it within a community.
We welcome anyone interested in learning more to our general meetings and sawdust sessions.
Periodically, we invite special presenters to demonstrate to our club. We are in touch with regional, national, and even a few international woodturners.
Who we are
Our club members range from experienced wood-turning instructors and artists to novices and a few members who just like to watch. No prior experience is needed. We encourage everyone to give it a turn.
We emphasize safety and best practices for handling tools and choosing wood and projects that fit members’ interests.
